We are very pleased to be able to facilitate our most experienced sailors to race with the Baltic Wharf Sailing Club on some Saturday afternoons throughout the season. The cost of hire for one of our Access boats to participate is £6 per session.
The Sailing club has warmly welcomed our sailors, encouraging them to join the club. Volunteers provide the safety cover for our disabled sailors as well as helping to rig and derig the boats under the direction of the sailor. They also assist the sailor into and out of the boat if necessary.
There are various different types of racing throughout the season. This is a very sociable and enjoyable afternoon, very often ending up sitting outside the Cottage Pub in the evening sunshine, discussing how each nearly won that time!
Sailors must be competent to at least RYA level 2 in order to participate in racing. If you would like to improve your sailing and have coaching, we are able to provide this for youngsters through our WESSA inclusive clubs and for adults through the Bristol Sailing School which operates out of the Sailing Centre alongside us.
