Bristol Sailability enables disabled young people, to participate in the challenging sport of sailing. We organise and run activities and courses that enable disabled people to experience the thrill and adventure of dinghy sailing and the pleasure of power boating.
Access on or around the water for many disabled people and wheelchair users in particular, is limited by the very nature of the of the environment and the accessibility of the equipment. We are dedicated to overcoming the many barriers faced by disabled pople and our work is to provide them with the same opportunities to participate in this sport, at any level, that able-bodied people take for granted.
We are constantly meeting new challenges to further upgrade our facilities with an ever increasing number of participants. Thanks to the generosity of the Hilton in the Community Foundation and Sportsmatch we have purchased new access dinghies.
Being on the water, increases self confidence, self reliance, encourages the development of new skills and responsibilities for our sailors. We are proud of the truly inclusive nature of our organisation and warmly welcome new sailors and volunteers to join with us and explore their potential.
